Omg lol...havent been blogging for exactly 1 month hehhehSo...as compensation, i shall blog abt everything interesting that happened within this month (or at least those i can remember)
Ok...wat just happened in August (Part 1) Lights, camera, action!! =D
Well the month started off wif our sch annual cross country on 08/08/08 which...is also the opening of the Beijing Olys. Made this new class t for it...followed tianming, kendall, clarissa, derrick and grace all the way to queensway to collect it, at 3 tea eggs as usual there =p If you didnt notice, then i wasted $20 for nth... To get to queensway, we had to run for buses...cross dangerous roads and climb extremely large flights of stairs o.O (well not really), then,we still missed the bus...
Back to cross country...kendall came to my hse in the morn, then we walked to ECP (still cant believe he actually came...at like..6am). Walked for prob an hr before reaching...so was tired by the time we reached. I pretty much tried to run the whole thing...half of my class was walking slowly behind though. Near the finish line that weijie overtook me..evil... His specs broke cause he was birthday bashing Barry hahahaha. Right... Went to arcade for awhile after the whole thing was over and met jingwen there together wif the co ppl.
Then was the opening ceremony of the Olys at 8pm...oooooo. Was really nice...there was like so many ppl doing stuff... Think it was supposed to symbolise the inventions of china or sth like that. The Olys went on for err....16 days i think...
Highlights of the olympics ( for those who were too busy studying/playing/slping to watch)
Phelps won 8 gold medals in swimming (one won by 0.01s), 7 of which were world records, so imba lol. Then there was his guy running the 42km marathon from kenya...more imba...run 42km finish still can walk around, talk and run to the crowd...like ppl run 400m like that. Took 2hrs+ to finish the whole 42km.
Usain Bolt broke 2 world records, 1 for 100m at 9.64, beat the record by 0.04s and another for 200m, just broke by 0.01. This cuban guy whose name is so long and weird that i dont remember (i shall call him cuban guy) won the 110m hurdles. Cuban guy technique gd...won by a mile...the other ppl so far behind. The china guy didnt participate...didnt wanna lose prob.
All the throwing events (e.g discus/shotput/javelin) the ppl throw so far...60+m for discus is like...normal. Javelin someone threw 100+m... the guy was like jumping around...
In soccer, Argentina won for the men, dunno for women...didnt watch... USA won basketball men/women (if dont win can die...) a 14 point victory over spain for men.
China won a lot of golds...for diving, gymnastics, judo (huge ppl trying to toss more huge ppl...), cannot swim or run nia.. Total of 100+ golds i think..
Singapore...table tennis team finally managed to get a silver...lost to china in the finals 0-3. But after 48 years finally got a medal in the Olys. Sports council must be damn happy...got bonus at the end of the year... Didnt get anything in the singles though. China got 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Anyway, it has always been china vs china...singapore player from china, austrian player from china, german player from china, china player from china. O no...they're trying to rule the world...
Watched fencing, didnt get it...all i see is ppl swing the sword then scream. Its not only the one to hit scream, the other person oso scream...then when the points awarded then look disappointed. Its like... *poke* *screams* and it keeps repeating throughout the whole match...dunno if they lose their voice...
Synchronized swimming russia won...almost perfect score somemore, 950/1000... japan team got someone knocked unconscious or sth. The teammates had to drag the person out of the pool, then put onto a stretcher.
One of the last events was the decathlon. This USA guy...like win almost every event...well-rounded. FYI decathlon is made up of 10 different events. Pole-vault, long jump, shortput, javelin, a few running stuff and other things that i forgot...
Volleyball, USA beat brazil 3-1 in the finals for men, women lost to brazil 2-3 in the finals, so 1 gold 1 silver. Their serve is like...90km/h...so fast...like car flying at you -.- later if get hit on the head sure faint or sth.
I dont really remember much about other events...wait for part 2 of the 2 part blog special =D maybe i'll remember more.
